What is the Northwest Ohio Counseling Association?

NWOCA is a chapter of the Ohio Counseling Association (OCA). NWOCA serves professional counselors in the Northwest Ohio region encompassing Toledo, Bowling Green, Tiffin, Lima, Napoleon, and Findlay areas. The mission of NWOCA is to enhance human development across the life span while assisting counselors and the counseling profession to develop higher levels of visibility and stature. NWOCA also helps promote professional identity, recognition, and development by providing members with a link to our national organization, the American Counseling Association (ACA).

First, you need to be a member of OCA. Your membership in NWOCA is free to OCA members. Just check the box next to NWOCA in the Chapters section of the OCA membership form. If you are not a member of OCA, just click here to go to the OCA membership page.

NWOCA Awards

Every year, NWOCA selects two individuals from Northwest Ohio as the Counselor of the Year and the Supervisor of the Year. We are currently accepting nominations for these two awards. To obtain information on and criteria for these awards, just download the Awards Nomination form.
